TESDA3 profiles industry locators in 3 Freeport Zones
TESDA-Central Luzon (TESDA-CL) is now conducting a comprehensive profiling of company locators in the three Freeport Zones of Clark, Subic, and Bataan to determine their needs for skilled workers in the next 3-5 years, the results of which shall pave the way for the drafting of the Mid-term Manpower and Development Plan for Central Luzon
The study, which will be done in coordination with the authorities of the three Freeport Zones and the provincial offices of Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales, is also an attempt to come up with an updated and reliable registry of company locators, their sizes and nature of business, training and recruitment practices, status of workers, and preferred assistance from the government to ensure an adequate pool of highly trained quality middle-level manpower.
It is an offshoot of TESDA-CL’s memorandum of agreement with the authorities of the three Freeport zones that was signed in July 4, 2012.
To lay down the groundwork for the project, Regional Director Teodoro Gatchalian met with Atty. Deogracias Custodio, chairman of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) and his deputies last November 19, 2012 at latter’s headquarters in Mariveles along with Bataan PD Remy Flestado Pampanga PD BenHur Baniqued, and Jaime Castillo of RTCCL-Mariveles. A month before, the same discussion was held at the Clark Freeport by PD Baniqued and then TESDA-Pampanga OIC Jenica Dunglao with the officials of the Clark Development Corporation’s Customer Services and Labor Department.
