2023 Provincial Skills Competition Kicked Off

With the theme, Innovate, Create, Elevate: Transformative Skills for Sustainable Future, TESDA Zambales in cooperation with the Zambales Association of Technical Vocational Educators and Institutions (ZATVEI) kicked off the 2023 Provincial Skills Competition on November 28, 2023 with enthusiasm and excitement as they recognize the skills and excellence of young industry-skilled workers and graduates of technical-vocational schools and training centers in the province of Zambales.
This year’s competition featured 21 different skills areas including Automobile Technology, Electronics, Electrical Technology, Graphic Design Technology, IT Network Systems Administration, IT Software Solutions for Business, Mechanical CAD, Mobile Robotics, Restaurant Services, Web Technology, Welding Technology, Cooking, 3D Digital Game Art, Information Network and Cabling, Carpentry, Joinery, Cabinet Making, Car Painting, Bricklaying, and Renewable Energy.
It was participated by the different competitors and experts from various participating institutions in the province comprising of Kennicks Training and Assessment Center, COMTEQ Computer and Business College, President Ramon Magsaysay State University, Micro Asia College of Science and Technology, St. Benilde Center for Global Competence, Power Skills Technical Institute of Zambales Inc, Northern Zambales College Inc., Bright Minds Institute of Knowledge and Skills, Inc., Lyceum of Western Luzon-Botolan, and TESDA Provincial Training Center-Iba.
Competition and skills demo were simultaneously held in Provincial Training Center-Iba, PRMSU, COMTEQ Business and Computer College, MACSAT and Power Skills Technical Institute of Zambales Inc. from November 28-30, 2023.
On behalf of Gov. Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr., Mr. Rolex Estella attended the closing and awarding ceremony with Iba, Zambales Mayor Irenea Maniquiz-Binan in the afternoon of November 30,2023 after the completion of all skills areas in Provincial Training Center-Iba.
During the awarding ceremony, Provincial Director Renato T. Dela Cruz Jr, Ph.D provided a welcome remarks followed by the Recap of Events delivered by Dr. Eugene I. Peñaranda, PTC-Iba Center Administrator. Afterwards, messages were given by Regional Director Toni June A. Tamayo and Mayor Irenea Maniquiz-Binan.
The announcement of winners was led by Engr. Jonathan A. Alvior, PTC Iba Senior TESD Specialist, and every winner was given a certificate of recognition and medals.

Ebdane Jr. To conclude this year’s competition, PD Dela Cruz expressed his message of appreciation to all the Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs), provincial and local government units, competitors, experts and to the PSC organizing committee, which then followed by a closing remark from Mr. Cris Vidal, ZATVEI Vice President.
Way forward, the gold medalists of each skills area shall be participating on the Regional Skills Competition to be tentatively held on the month of August this year.
