Bataan PNP recognized TESDA Bataan’s support to their agency

THE Bataan Police Provincial Office recognized the support of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-Bataan to their agency during the celebration of the 115th Police Service Anniversary held at Camp Cirilo S. Tolentino, City of Balanga, Bataan on September 20, 2016.

Engr. Jaime S. Castillo, TESDA Bataan provincial director, was given a certificate of appreciation in recognition of TESDA’s invaluable support, cooperation and technical expertise in helping the police in accomplishing their tasks and goals to better serve the public.

Engr. Castillo said that in behalf of all TESDA Bataan personnel, he was thankful and delighted upon receiving the said recognition.

He informed that in coordination with BPPO, the agency has already provided and conducted free trainings for drug surrenderees/reformists, under the Community-Based Training program such as Massage Therapy, Meat Processing, Foot Spa Training, and Hand and Foot Reflexology from July to September of this year.

He promised that they will continue in assisting the police for them to provide better service to the public particularly in their quest of making Bataan a drug-free province.

Lawyer Police Senior Supt. Benjamin H. Silo, Jr., Bataan police director, headed the celebration. He announced that only 40 out of the 236 barangays in the province remain affected with illegal drugs.

Atty. Silo expressed the hope that Bataan will be the first province in the country to be drug-free by the end of September 2016.

Edmund Lee Castañeda, chairman of Orani Water District, and representing Congresswoman Geraldine Roman of Bataan First’s District, graced the said occasion. He lauded the Bataan police for its successful operation against illegal drugs.

With this year’s theme, “Hamon ng Pagbabago, Pinag-ibayong Serbisyo”, awards and recognitions were given to PNP personnel, government officials, NGOs and private individuals, who have been very supportive to Bataan PPO, particularly on improvement of police service and capability enhancement.

Police officers who were also given recognitions are: SPO1 Shay M. Rubio of PPCRB, SPO1 Bonifacio C. Corpuz of Hermosa MPS, PO1 Rey Anthony C. Cristobal of Dinalupihan MPS, PCINSP Joey V. Sampaga of Bagac MPS, PINSP Jennifer Cruz of BPPO, SPO1 Christopher Sambat (Intel Cooperative), PO3 Emerito Gozum; among some others.

Awardees from the media were provincial correspondents Roel Tarayao of TV5, Ernie Esconde of GMA 7 and Jimmy Z. Mangalindan of Power Radio.

The Police Service Day is being celebrated annually in commemoration of the founding day of the Philippine Constabulary being the first organized police force of the Philippines, until its evolution in today’s Philippine National Police. (sef)
