Conduct of Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) from May 16-20, 2022

PTC Iba Organic Agriculture Production NC II graduates were deployed in Delta Farm, Brgy. Sta. Barbara, Iba, Zambales for the conduct of Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) from May 16-20, 2022. The SIL is being conducted to expose TVET learners in the actual workplace to further enhance acquisition of competencies.
PTC Iba Center Administrator Eugene I. Peñaranda, Industry Coordinator Jonathan A. Alvior, OAP Trainer Mary Dianne B. Dumlao with Delta Farm Owner Engr. Benigno S. Jimenez and Farm Manager Roderick Lucas facilitated the orientation for the seventeen (17) PTC Iba learners with regard to the SIL implementation guidelines.
The eighty (80) hours on-the-job training comprises of various activities such as the introduction to farm practices using EM1 effective microorganisms, preparation of FPJ and liquid smoke, vermicast harvesting, potting mixed using vermicast, CRH and fine garden soil with EMAS, seed transplanting, weeding, land preparation and cultivation, post-harvest activities, preparation of organic feed and fertilizer among others.
