E-TESDA Welcomes New Enrollees Amid COVID-19 Community Quarantine
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority encourage Filipinos to register and enroll in courses offered for free through e-TESDA or the TESDA Online Program so as to retain productivity amid the mobility restrictions to prevent further coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) amongst the population.
Government authorities have been strongly urging the public to stay safe inside their homes and practice proper hygiene habits to avoid contracting or spreading the virus.
While both the government and the private sector are utilizing the “work from home” scheme, among several other arrangements, there are workers whose work may have been completely suspended given the COVID-19 threat. Classes in Metro Manila and other areas have also been suspended.
“We are enjoined to stay at home, as this is among the ways to prevent the spread of the virus. We encourage those with available time to make good use of this period, while Metro Manila is under community quarantine. I invite the students and workers to try enrolling in our online classes. This is offered for free,” TESDA chief Secretary Isidro Lapena explained.
