GPSAT inks accord with Yokohama for DTS
The Gonzalo Puyat School of Arts and Trades (GPSAT) has successfully entered into a landmark agreement with Yokohama Tires Philippines, Inc. (YTPI), one of the biggest locators in Clark Freeport Zone engaged in manufacturing automobile tires, for the delivery of Dual Training System (DTS).
For YTPI, this marks the first time ever that the Japanese-owned firm will venture into DTS. The memorandum of agreement (MOA), signed by Alvin Sagum, GPSAT School Administrator and Tadaharu Yamamoto, YTPI Executive Vice-President and Administrative Division Manager, consummated on March 15, 2013 is for the delivery of DTS on welding and automotive technology. YTPI used to deliver enterprise-based training thru the Apprenticeship Program mode.
The signing of the MOA was done in the presence of TESDA Pampanga Provincial Director Ben-Hur Baniqued and Joel de Jesus, focal person in DTS in Pampanga. The YTPI officials present during the MOA signing include Toshinari Matsumoto, Executive Vice President and Assistant Plant Operations Division Manager; Angelina Casasola, Vice President and department manager; Juanito Arona, Vice President for Plant Operations Division, and Geraldine Bautista Human Resource Manager.
The partnership is much a needed ‘shot in the arm’ for GPSAT, boosting its efforts in opening its doors to partners thru the delivery of industry-responsive courses for the Kapampangan youth towards employment and productivity.
