Last June 16, 2022 Supervising TESD Specialist MR. EDGARDO D. SUAREZ visited Radiance Traders Builders, one of the construction firms in Aurora located in Brgy. Reserva, Baler, Aurora. A fruitful consultation and validation on the Construction Industry Skills Priority took place. Masonry, Carpentry and Driving were amongst the identified skills that need prioritization in the province of Aurora according to the accommodating owners MR. AND MRS ARNOLD BAUTISTA. The forementioned also plan to put up a Training and Assessment Center to help more locals especially the skilled labor force of Aurora in the said industry. The above consultation was tied with a virtual consultation with Community Training and Employment Coordinators (CTEC) Officials of each municipality to also validate the priority skills in the province of Aurora. The meeting was facilitated by Supervising TESD Specialist MR EDGARDO D. SUAREZ and OIC Provincial Director MS. CYLIE AMOR G. LITAO. Dressmaking, Aquaculture and other Agriculture-related programs were identified skills that needs utmost priority in majority of the municipalities in the province. TESDA’S devolution plan that mandates TESDA to devolve it’s training function to local governments units: specifically directing TESDA to formulate, finance, and implement a specific plan to develop the capability of local government units (LGUs) to assume ultimately the responsibilty to effectively provide community-based technical education and skills development opportunities. The TESDA Provincial Office and Provincial Training Center, together with the LGU’s, industry bodies, and other stakeholders will work hand in hand to achieve the common goal of upskilling the Filipino workforce.
