LOOK: Joint Earthquake Preparedness Orientation and Fire Prevention Drilla
“We cannot stop natural disasters but we can arm ourselves with knowledge: so many lives wouldn’t have to be lost if there was enough disaster preparedness.” – Petra Nemcova, One of the most common saying that we can live up to ensure that we are safe in anything that may happen.
On June 10, 2021, GPSAT with the leadership of Dr. Alvin G. Sagum, the school administrator conducted the joint earthquake and fire prevention drill to the 70 trainees from the different qualification and staff of the school. The orientation and drill aim to intensify the preparedness to earthquake and fire that may help in building safe community. Before the drill, Mr. Robert Joe Sagum from MDRMC San Luis conducted the orientation on earthquake preparedness where the cause of earthquakes was discussed as well as the things to be done during and after an earthquake. Fire Inspector Tapia also discussed the proper use of Fire Extinguisher, the most common causes of fire and the right things to be done in case of fire. Right after the orientation, actual demonstration and drill was demonstrated by the BFP officers then later followed by the volunteer staff and trainees for them to experience the actual fire prevention coming from LPG fire and actual fire.
This is just one of the proofs that GPSAT is really doing its best to continuously live with its vision and mission and meet its objectives and be part in building a safe and prepared community.
