LOOK: RD Balmyrson M. Valdez, together with PD Jovencio M. Ferrer presented the “Supporting Innovation in the Philippine TVET System” or SIPTVETS to the Sectoral Committee on Social Development (SCSD) of the Central Luzon Regional Development Council (RDC) during the committees 2nd Quarter Committee meeting held on May 5, 2021. The purpose of the presentation is to seek endorsement of the project from the RDC.

After several questions and clarification PSR Mr. Rommel Golimlim motioned for its approval and endorsement to the CL-RDC and was duly seconded by PSR Ms. Elena Tesoro. It would be included to the 2nd quarter RDC meeting for final endorsement.

The project hopes to achieve the following impacts:

i) Global competitiveness and readiness of Filipino mid-level workforce strengthened, and

ii) TVET used more effectively as an instrument for social equity for workforce inclusion and poverty reduction.

The outcomes will be

i) employability of TVET graduates, and

ii) equitable access to quality TVET improved.
