MOU Signed for Lipat Kaalaman Program

MOU Signed for Lipat Kaalaman Program

A Memorandum of Understanding was forged between the City of Balanga and TESDA Bataan in support of the implementation of the Training for Work Scholarship Program.  Under the MOU, the City of Balanga advocates the TWSP, screen applicants for the scholarship, monitor trainees’ performance and refer graduates thru the City Government’s Public Employment Services Office (PESO). The cooperation was part of the Lipat Kaalaman Program (LIKAP) of the City Government of Balanga towards ensuring delivery of accessible public services to the people by empowering students in the University Town. For TESDA, the program is in consonance with the pro-active skills matching paradigm of SEEK-FIND- TRAIN model, wherein the City Government’s assistance definitely provides efficient and effective system of selecting scholars for a successful program implementation.

City Administrator and LIKAP Initiative Head, Rodolfo De Mesa, expressed enthusiasm and appreciation over the talent pool that can be developed for the start of operation of the first BPO in Bataan which is the GenPact. City Mayor Joet Garcia lauded the initiative of the Performance Governance System (PGS) Core Team of the City Government for being able to access all possible resources for the development of their constituents. He expressed interest towards other IT programs in relation to the city vision of becoming a University Town in the Year 2020 and the emerging hub of knowledge- based businesses in the Philippines.   PD Grace Castillo on the other hand, thanked the COB for their support to the programs of TESDA and emphasized the importance of finding the right people for training. She also said that the close coordination with the industry thru the COB will pave way for a more purposive identification of programs/ qualifications for funding under the TWSP as linked to employment.

The MOU took effect in April 11, 2016 wherein thirty-two (32) referrals of the COB are now undergoing the training on Contact Center Services NC II at the Microcity College of Business and Technology.

MOU Signing held at the City Library of LGU City of Balanga. Seated from L-R : City Mayor Joet Garcia, City Administrator Rodolfo De Mesa, PD Grace Corazon Castillo and Spvg. TESD Specialist Rebecca Samson. Standing are the Core Team members of the COB’s Performance Governance System
