Online Training Program in Organic Urban Gardening

August 12, 2021: Through the initiative of TESDA Region 3, Regional Director, Atty. Balmyrson Valdez, the Online Training Program in Organic Urban Gardening facilitated by Mr. Rico D. Briones of Concepcion Vocational School marks a remarkable event to the people housed at Lapus Sports Complex Quarantine Facility. With the purpose of capacitating the identified persons tested positive with Covid-19, the online training program gives these people a chance to overcome mental , psychological and health stresses by providing them with technical knowhow of urban gardening as delivered by the urban gardening guru of CVS, Mr. Rico D. Briones. The online training program is well coordinated with Hon. Andres “Andy” Lacson, Mayor of Concepcion, Tarlac with the assistance of RHU/MDRRMO Administrator, Mr. Ronald “Bok” Bautista.

During the training program, Mr. Briones, concretely presented the essence and substance of urban gardening and its roles in harmonizing the environment with nature and to every individual’s life. With the land description of the quarantine facility, the area is very much suitable for urban gardening and other agricultural opportunities, thus making its habitants a more productive and dynamic individuals while inside the facility.

Not only persons with confirmed cases of Covid-19 were present during the presentation but also representatives from other institutions like the interns of DOLE and C-CASH officials.
