Throughout the month of July, the Stage 1 of the National Training Plan (NTP) requires the Top Gold Medalists of the 2014 PNSC or the candidates to undergo rigid training and exposure in actual industry setting. The training is aimed to expose and engage them to modern technology and industry practices. Purposely, this should fill-in the deficiency of their training and preparations extended by their respective training centers and institutions.
By the end of July, the NOC will organize and conduct a mock competition to gauge the improvement and readiness of the candidates for the international competition. The result of the mock exercise shall serve as the basis of the TESDA NOC in deciding who among the candidates will proceed to the next stage of the NTP and be finally considered to be part of the Philippine Team as Competitor to the 10th ASEAN Skills Competition. An independent panel composed of industry experts will be invited to assist the NOC to decide on this matter.
TESDA Region 3 Regional Director Teodoro M. Gatchalian, Ph.D. expressed his full support to the regional candidates during the meeting held last June 2, 2014. Together with the respective trainings centers/institutions of the region 3 contingent, and the Provincial and Regional TVI Associations, RD Gatchalian is very hopeful that all TESDA 3 contingents shall pass and be considered as part of the Philippine to Team bound to Hanoi, Vietnam for the 10th ASC.
The candidates with their coaches are now billeted at the TESDA-TWC Dormitory in Taguig City and are provided with daily allowances for the entire Stage 1 training duration.
