PO-Nueva Ecija breaks ground in Palayan City
The TESDA Provincial Office (PO) in Nueva Ecija will soon call Palayan City as its home as Governor Aurelio “Oyie” Umali led the groundbreaking of the new site in Brgy. Singalat near the Provincial Capitol on February 19, 2013.
The new site of the provincial office is found within the 4,000 square meter lot which was donated by the Palayan City Government, thru Mayor Romeo Capinpin and Vice Mayor Moises Carmona Jr. on August 6, 2012. It is adjacent to the Provincial Training Center-Palayan.
For Gov. Umali, the transfer of TESDA-PO from Cabanatuan City to Palayan will boost the agency and the local government’s efforts to further improve its technical education and skills development services to the Novo Ecijanos. RD Ted Gatchalian, on the other hand, thanked Gov. Umali and Mayor Capinpin for their support to TESDA and its undertakings. “We are happy because we are on the right track in terms of implementing relevant technical education and skills development (TESD) in tandem with the LGUs of the province”, he said.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by TESDA Provincial Director Roland Dela Torre and PTC-Palayan staff, officials and members of the Nueva Ecija Association Technical Vocational Institutions, students, and other TESD partners.
