Tarlac holds confab for TVI heads, registrars

The TESDA-Tarlac Provincial Office conducted the 1st Administrators and Registrars Conference last June 8, 2012 Luisita, Tarlac City as part of its efforts to improve the delivery of quality technical education and skills development programs in the province. More than 80 delegates participated.

The agenda focused on program registration; competency assessment and certification; Dual Training System (DTS); issuance of Special Order; certification authentication and verification; and the TVET trainer’s qualification. PD Labutong stressed the agency’s policy on maintaining standards in the delivery of tech-voc courses. She also explained the closure of registered programs as one of the sanctions to erring schools. Likewise, the policies on timeliness and accurate reporting were discussed with the registrars.

PD Labutong lamented the unsatisfactory output in the certification rate and the employment of the tech-voc graduates and encouraged the school heads to address the situation with urgency andadvised them to enhance their linkage with the industries for the employment of their graduates.
