TESDA-DSWD Cash for Training Program
The Cash for Training Program is one of the latest projects of TESDA-III in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-III (DSWD). It aims to deliver training programs for the youth for gainful employment. The beneficiaries are individuals determined eligible under the expanded Government Internship
Program of the DSWD.
The program has two major components, namely; Training for wage employment (Trabaho) and Training for Self-Employment (Hanapbuhay). The latter has three basic modes as:
1) on-site training;
2) school-supervised training;
3) NGO partners training
Each scholar-beneficiary will receive a total of P20,000 which include payment of tuition, starter tool kit, and transporation allowance. The program, which will be implemented by TESDA thru its Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP), is expected to start before the end of CY 2012.
