TESDA Bataan produces Honey Calamansi Juice and Hand Sanitizer for COVID19 Frontliners
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Bataan headed by Provincial Director Julie Ann Banganan produced honey calamansi juice and hand sanitizers that were distributed to frontliners in the fight against Coronavirus Disease 2019 or COVID-19.
The calamansi were harvested by TESDA Bataan employees led by Neil Santioque, RTC-Mariveles Center Chief, and Aida Estacio, OIC, PTC-Orion, at the Regional Training Center in Mariveles town.
Kabalikat members in Mariveles assisted in turning the calamansi into honey calamansi juice.
The hand sanitizers, on the other hand, were produced in Barangay Gugo, Samal, Bataan in partnership with Samal Municipal Government, Samal Rural Health Unit, Gugo Barangay Council, Barangay Health Workers and Tau Gama Phi-Samal Chapter.
The finished products were given to barangay Tanod, police and medical workers who served in the frontlines of COVID-19.
This is in line with the desire of TESDA Sec. Isidro Lapeña to use common raw materials in the locality for a good purpose especially, in this time of crisis brought about by COVID-19.
He also urged TESDA workers to coordinate with local folk for the production of valuable items like these. (30)
