
TESDA, DOLE and DTI sign MOA to Assist Returning OFW
TESDA Director General, Sec. Isidro S. Lapeña, PhD., CSEE, with the Secretary of DOLE and Chairperson of OWWA,
Sec. Silvestre H. Bello III, and DTI’s Secretary Ramon M. Lopez signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the Skills Training, Technical Education, Assessment and Certification and Entrepreneurial Assistance, for Returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their Family. This momentous event was held on May 1, 2019 in coinciding the Labor Day Celebration at Kingsborough International Convention Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
The primary purpose of this Agreement is to formalize the partnership between these three agencies in skills training, technical education, assessment and certification, as well as entrepreneurship assistance for returning OFWs and their families.
This partnership will strengthen TESDA’s purposive intervention for returning OFWs and their families with special focus to domestic workers, and also explore the development of a joint project on technical education and skills training, assessment and certification and employment, entrepreneurship and livelihood, thru the Comprehensive OFW Reintegraation Program Framework and the DTI’s Trabaho Negosyo, Kabuhayan blueprint.
