Farming Hope : The Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers Training Program

            109 brave farmers received their Certificate of Completion for the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers Training Program last April 24, 2019 at Brgy. Eden , Mexico, Pampanga during their graduation ceremony.

Spearheaded by SM Foundation thru its Assistant Mall Manager Ms.Raquel Chua, the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers Training Program is a 12 –week program where farmers are taught on effective backyard planting and small-scale farming techniques for fruits and vegetables. This helps improve the quality and quantity of their crops as well as provide organic food for their families. They also assist farmers who form cooperatives by linking them to local markets and SM suppliers for a more stable source of income.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Ms. Raquel Chua together with the team of SM City Pampanga, DSWD Region III Regional Director Ms. Gemma Gabuya, together with the DSWD Region III Team, Mr. Ricky Manguera, HVCD Representative, Mr. Crisanto Evangelista, Municipal Agriculturist, TESDA Regional Director Dante J. Navarro, Harbest Team and with the support of the LGU of Mexico.

During the ceremony RD Navarro pledged that those who are willing to undergo the formal training in Agriculture from Batch 190 graduates shall receive a scholarship from TESDA.  SM Foundation shall also be partnering with TESDA in the conduct of similar programs.
