
Training of Trainers on 21st Century Skills
The Bulacan Association of Technical Vocational Schools (BATVS), with the assistance of the TESDA Bulacan Provincial Office, conducted its Training of Trainers on 21st Century Skills on March 6, 2023 at the RTCCL Multipurpose gym in Guiguinto, Bulacan. This conforms to TESDA Circular No. 097 s. 2019 re: “Implementing Guidelines on Newly Promulgated Amended Competency Standards for Basic Competencies Integrated with 21st Century Skills,” which will take place over the course of five days up to March 10, 2023.
PD Gerty Pagaran delivered an opening remarks in the said training emphasizing the need for 21st Century Skills in training learners. According to her, “21st Century Skills are unquestionably crucial to ensuring success in navigating the TVET environment as it is important that one does not only do or perform tasks skillfully but also competitively.”
Meanwhile, along with the trainers and TVIs, she also acknowledged the following people who were present and facilitated/assisted in the said training: Mr. Edgardo Santiago–president of BATVS, Mr. Norman Garcia of PTC Tarlac, Ms. Kathrine Angeles–KorPhil Center Chief and Ms. Denie Domingo; Mr. Rheo Rodriguez–RTCCL Center Chief, Mr. Marvin Sebastian, and Mr. Jonathan Senora from RTCCL; Mr. Renato Salas and Mr. Lawrence Ramos from PTC Calumpit; and Ms. Catherine Santos, TESD Specialist II, PO Bulacan.
Through the said training, TESDA Bulacan hopes that this will enable the trainers to instill their students to possess desirable work ethics and 21st century skills allowing them to be competitive at work.
