Winners of 2022 Region 3 skills tilt announced
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Region 3 has concluded the four-day 2022 Regional Skills Competition (RSC), proclaiming the winners from different skills areas on September 3, 2022, at the Regional Training Center Central Luzon gymnasium in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
Zambales topped the competition with nine gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal. Bulacan trails next with six gold, two silver, and four bronze medals. Meanwhile, Tarlac bagged seven gold, two silver, and one medallion for excellence. Pampanga follows with ten medals – five gold and five silver. Bataan with two gold, five silver, one bronze, and two medallions for excellence; Nueva Ecija won one gold, two bronze, and one medallion for excellence; and Aurora Province took home one gold and one silver medal.
The RSC ran from August 30 to September 2 and was participated by almost sixty competitors from the different provinces in Region III.
The participants competed in over twenty-eight (28) different skill areas.
“Congratulations to all our winners! I encourage you to keep doing your best, especially those who will be moving forward to the national skills competition. I assure you of the continuing support of TESDA Region III as you advance to the next level of the competition,” Regional Director Atty Balmyrson Valdez said.
The gold medal winners of the competition will undergo further training to prepare them as regional representatives/competitors in the upcoming Philippine National Skills Competition (PNSC) to be held on November 14 to 18, 2022.
All the winners also received cash prizes aside from medals and certificates.
Valdez also thanked all the training institutions that participated in the RSC. He also commended the skills experts who mentored the competitors during their training.
Dr. Marcelo V. Fernandez, the chairman of the Regional Technical Education and Skills Development Committee and Mr. Gregorio Sison, president of the Central Luzon TVI Federation handed the medals and certificates to the winners during the awarding ceremony.
The RSC serves as a venue to recognize the skills and excellence of young skilled workers and graduates of tech-voc education and training at par with international standards.
Currently, TESDA Region III is vying for its 7th National Championship in the upcoming PNSC.
