
Women of Tek-Bok Celebrate Women’s Month
More than 2000 Women of Tek-Bok trooped the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija to attend the TESDA Region III organized Women’s Forum. This one-day forum held last March 28, 2014, with a theme “Juana ng Tek-Bok Ang Tatag mo ay Tatag Natin sa Pagbangon at Pagsulong” is one of TESDA’s contribution in the celebration of the 2014 Women’s Month. The participants were warmly welcomed by the Vice President for Administration of CLSU, Mr. Raul P. Divina.
During the forum, significant issues regarding women were discussed by the invited resource speakers. Deputy Cop Avelina Abrio De Guzman of PNPA, discussed Gender Equality; the Social Welfare Officer III-Community-Based Services Sector of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Ms. Presentacion Pineda, talk-about Violence Against Women and Children; Ms. Julieta M. Bernardo of the Department of Health shared her expertise on Young Women’s Reproductive Health; and OIC-Provincial Head of DOLE Nueva Ecija gave some information about Illegal Recruitment and Human Trafficking.
The day was highlighted by the arrival of the Guest Speaker for the occasion, the Deputy Director General for TESD Operations and the Chairman of the National GAD Focal System of TESDA, Atty. Teodoro C. Pascua. The DDG emphasized on the great role and contribution of the women of Tek-Bok in nation-building.
The Women of Tek-bok includes women trainees, tech-voc institutions officials and personnel, local chief executives, women groups and TESDA officials and personnel. The program was initiated by TESDA Region III – Gender and Development team.
