The TESDA Provincial Training Center–Iba, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Zambales, the Social Security System (SSS), and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Philippines Inc., successfully conducted a Post-Training Services consisting of a Job Fair and SSS Orientation for the beneficiaries of the Skills Training on Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II from Masinloc and Sta. Cruz, Zambales on January 14, 2026 at Masinloc Municipal Hall, Masinloc, Zambales. The activity was conducted under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Project of DOLE.
This initiative was made possible through the strong partnership among TESDA Zambales, headed by Mr. Leonardo R. Tabamo, with PTC–Iba Center Administrator Dr. Eugene I. Peñaranda; the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region III, represented by Mr. Arvin Fabian, Senior Labor and Employment Officer; the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Masinloc, headed by Ms. Josephine Barcena; HD Hyundai, represented by its Head of Human Resources, Mr. Ralph David Magno; the Social Security System (SSS)–Iba, represented by its Acting Branch Head, Ms. Ihreen Grace S. Sagaoinit; MTF Administrator Mr. Jude Merza; and MITF Administrator Ms. Marites Paladan.
The activity was attended by twenty-six (26) beneficiaries from Masinloc and twenty-eight (28) beneficiaries from Sta. Cruz, with a total of fifty-four (54) participants. A major highlight of the activity was the job fair conducted by HD Hyundai, which resulted in the successful hiring of thirty-three (33) trainees, composed of eighteen (18) beneficiaries from Masinloc and fifteen (15) from Sta. Cruz.
The partnership proved to be an effective model for skills-to-employment initiatives. The high employment placement rate of the SMAW NC II graduates underscores both the strong demand for skilled welders in the region and the quality and relevance of the training provided by TESDA.
