TESDA AURORA JOINS COMMITTEE HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE INSTITUTIONALIZING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
TESDA Aurora participated in the Joint Committee Hearing on the Proposed Ordinance Institutionalizing Skills Development and Creating the Provincial Skills and Industry Coordinating Council on February 9, 2026 at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, Baler, Aurora. This proposed ordinance, authored by Hon. Board Member Jennifer A. Araña, aims to ensure that skills training programs are responsive, demand-driven, and consistent with the province’s development priorities, and to further develop and enhance employability, entrepreneurship, productivity, and income opportunities in Aurora.
Supervising TESD Specialist Jerome H. Lopez, representing Provincial Director Nomer M. Pascual, took part in the discussion and provided inputs on TESDA Aurora’s strategies in skills development planning and implementation. He emphasized that the agency’s approach to labor market information (LMI) data gathering and skills training implementation is close coordination with partner agencies, local government units, and the community. This ensures the avoidance of duplication of skills training programs and enables the identification and delivery of training programs that are responsive and relevant to the actual needs of the community. Moreover, Mr. Lopez discussed the implementation of TESDA programs currently being rolled out in the province, including EBET, Micro-Credentialing Courses, and CBTVET.
