TESDA Region III Strengthens Partnership with First District of Bataan to Advance Community-Based Skills Training
On January 30, 2026, in line with its mandate to expand access to quality technical vocational education and training (TVET), TESDA Region III, led by Regional Director Balmyrson M. Valdez, together with TESDA Bataan Acting Provincial Director Juliette T. Feliciano, conducted a courtesy call and collaboration meeting with Hon. Antonino “Tony” B. Roman III, Congressman of the First District of Bataan.
The meeting aimed to explore strategic partnerships for the implementation of community-based training programs that will respond to local industry needs and support inclusive workforce development in the province.
During the discussion, the parties identified potential areas of collaboration, including the possible establishment of a training center and the development of a local TVET ecosystem. Priority programs highlighted include training for creative industries such as boat making and coconut by-products, coconut food preservation, skills training for TUPAD beneficiaries in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and AI and computer skills development for the youth.
Both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening collaboration to bring accessible, relevant, and industry-responsive skills training closer to communities. The initiative is expected to contribute to community empowerment, workforce readiness, and the strengthening of local industries in Bataan.
This engagement underscores TESDA’s continued efforts to work closely with local government leaders and stakeholders in advancing skills development and employment generation in the region.
